Baybeats is an annual alternative music festival in Singapore, launched in 2002 by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. It serves as a platform for emerging local and regional bands, focusing on genres like indie rock, punk, and electronic music. Over the years, it has grown into one of Southeast Asia's key music events.
In 2016, Baybeats celebrated its 15th anniversary from June 24 to 26. The festival featured a diverse lineup of local and regional acts, showcasing genres from rock and metal to electronic music. Key performances included local bands like Caracal and regional acts such as Malaysia's OJ Law. The festival continued its tradition of supporting new talent through the Baybeats Budding initiative.
